introduction joining the IRAA contacting a registrant download a registration packet		Joining the IRAA In order to maintain a useful database, registration in the IRAA requires that an artist have had at least 15 galleries or collectors exhibit or purchase a piece of the artist's work. An entry application may be submitted by any of the following:
			-	The artist
			-	A family member of the artist
			-	An agent, associate, or patron of the artist
			-	A student of the artist
			-	An author or publisher of a catalogue, raisonné, manuscript, or book about the artist
			-	An independent scholar
			Applications may be submitted by those who don't exactly fit the above list, though we reserve the right to reject any entry application. An entry application may be submitted for any of the following:
			-	An original work of visual art in any type of media
			-	An original edition of an artwork in any type of media
			-	A film or video production
			-	A reproduction of an original artwork
			The following limitations apply to registering reproductions of an artwork:
			-	the dimensions and media of the original work are required
			-	the number of reproductions included in the edition is required
			-	only one edition of reproductions will be accepted
			-	artist proofs are not accepted
			The following information can be entered into an artist's IRAA record:
			-	name
			-	primary and secondary media type
			-	date of birth
			-	date of death
			-	city, state, and country where the artist was born
			-	city, state, and country where the artist lives and/or works
			-	the artist's personal Web site address
			-	a brief biography (up to 70 words)
			"Primary Media" is the category an artist selects from a list generated by the IRAA to descibe the majority of his/her work (ie: painting, ceramics). If an artist works in more than one primary media, he/she may elect to become a registrant under more than one IRAA number. The following information can be entered into an artwork's IRAA record:
			-	a digital image up to 300 x 300 pixels
			-	title
			-	dimensions
			-	date of creation
			-	media/materials
			-	provenance note: details on provenance should refer to an artwork’s status, such as collection, exhibition, and sale history.
			IRAA Fee Structure U.S. dollars only Registration of Artist - $4 A record will be established, including the issuing of an Artist IRAA Number and a registration certificate Bar-Coded label of Artist IRAA Number - $4 One bar-coded label will be issued Duplicates - 25˘ each Registration of Artwork or Reproduction - $1 An Artwork IRAA Number will be issued Bar-Coded label of Artwork IRAA Number - $4 One bar-coded label will be issued Duplicates - 25˘ each Inclusion of Artwork Image in Database - $10 Scan Image (convert slide or print into digital form) - $5 Request for Registration Packet via Postal Mail - $3 To avoid this fee, please download the registration packet. There are no renewal fees - once registered, it's forever. How to Join There are two ways to start: 1. Download the registration packet (PDF format), print it out, complete all relevant areas, and postal mail the forms with your payment and other necessary materials. 2. Contact us and request a registration packet, which you can postal mail back with your payment and other relevant materials. Updating a Registrant's Record To make modifications to a record, please download the registration packet, complete and sign the Current Registrant Form, and postal mail it to us. To ensure database security and accuracy, we are only able to accept modifications via this method. Linking to a Registrant's Record Registrants may link to the IRAA from their individual or organizational Web site. To link directly to a specific record, place the following HTML code into the page you wish to link from. Please be aware that there should be no spaces or line breaks in the code.
